Let’s repair it on our own! Road maintenance work

Jan 25, 2018

The long rainy season was over and the strong shiny days is continuing these days.
Here, at villages of Rasmesonha, Kokchou and Andok Dammuoy at northwest of the Kingdom of Cambodia where post minefield and Good Earth Japan extend the support to farmers living there, villagers have worked to repair the road by themselves.

The road constructed by GEJ for these villages were paved with Laterite and it would have less damages by rain than the other road like earth road etc. And also, thanks to the improvement on the awareness of villagers for the road maintenance, the small damages on the roads were repaired in timely manner.
This time, although there were some damages on them, they have been repaired easily by the villagers themselves.

GEJ support farmers who live on the post-minefield to become independent through agriculture training, improving living environment, and also improvement of infrastructure. Beside, GEJ is instructing farmers to do such things themselves if it can be done in cooperation with neighbors.
