Two ponds are complete

May 14, 2018

Good Earth Japan (GEJ) construct pond to secure water for living and agriculture use of farmers who live on the post mine field in the Kingdom of Cambodia as one of the supporting activities of improving their living environment.
GEJ planned to construct three ponds within this year. One each of Pond for villages of Boeng Sangke and Andoung Neang among them has completed recently and those are waiting for to be filled up to capacity.
As mentioned, water of the Pond is very useful for farmers nearby especially at the time of draught in dry season. Furthermore, it will help children who shall be asked to get water for domestic animals frequently.

In case of Boeng Sangke village, villagers were chipped in a small money to install the fence around the new pond to prevent animals come in the water’s edge and damage the shoulder of the pond. This trend would contribute to have sense of public spirit and self-reliance, GEJ thinks.

GEJ support farmers who live on the post landmine field to become independent through the agriculture training, improving living environment, and improvement of infrastructure.
